Lemon slice in a glass of water (PiP)
The Sunday Challenge (TSC): 'back to basics'
Use a non-zoom lens, ISO100, and lets see something SOOC, no crop, no post pro, just like in the old days of film.
This is a 20,1 MB RAW file (digital negative) shot with my 100mm prime. Settings were fully manual except white balance (AWB). I used a tripod and focussed manually with the help of live view. The file is completely untouched, I just transferred it from camera to hard drive with EOS Utitlty.
Inset/below is the JPG (shot in tandem with the RAW), picture style "automatic", the differences to RAW show what Canon does in camera.

Phoenicoparrus jamesi (PiP)
Feathers of James's flamingo. Photographed on a sheet of white paper on front of a window and given the high key treatment.
The inset clickable photo shows where I picked up the feathers years ago.
Reworked photo to make it truly high key:

More is more (PiP)
The Sunday Challenge (TSC): Maximalism
Maximalism as antithesis to minimalism- more is more instead of less is more.
I can relate to that as my bookshelves groan;-)
Collage made of several single shots, then edited in 4 different ways and made into a collage again. Inset the original collage edited in an analogue Kodachrome look. Original size added as second PiP!
Storks
The Sunday Challenge (TSC): BIRDS/BIRD -Living birds, not dead or ornaments
These wild storks made our zoo "Wilhelma" their home. They enjoy the easy life with abundant food- it remains to be seen whether they will migrate to Africa in the winter. Their predecessor stayed here because she had an injured leg and got used to the comfort of her surroundings ( the silly thing once foraged for food in the middle of a big road and got hit by a car...). If you look hard you can see sparrows bottom left- they build their nests underneath the storks' nest!
Inset a wider view of the building with the nest on top.
Other wild birds living in "Wilhelma" include cormorants, grey herons, mallards, coots and a large number of the usual birds found in parks and gardens.

Pisco sour (PiP)
The Sunday Challenge (TSC): beverage/s, drink/s
A glass of Pisco sour in front of yellow-green curtains, edited in Lightroom and tweaked with Color Efex Pro (Inset photo shows the ingredients used)
Pisco sour is the most popular cocktail in Chile and Peru- as to who "owns" it there have always been discussions and lawsuits. It is made of Pisco (a brandy distilled from grapes), lemon or lime, sugar syrup, ice and fresh egg white. The latter is sometimes omitted as I did here (not trusting fresh eggs in the current heat), though without egg white you don't get the lovely froth. Sometimes Pisco sour is topped by a dash of Angostura ar a sprinkling of cinnamon.
Recipes vary from 3 parts Pisco with 1 part lemon/ 1 part sugar to 1 part of everything, depending on how strong the Pisco is. Peruvian is said to be milder than Chilean which packs quite a punch;-)
