Chile - Easter Island, Ahu Vai Uri
Easter Island - or Rapa Nui as the locals call their island - is well known for its moai, the great carved stone statues staring stonily across the island’s barren hills. The islanders used stone tools to carve a statue out of volcanic tuff. The statues were secured by bark rope attached to tree trunk capstans at the top of the ‘moai factory’. Then they were lowered down the slope into pits where, upstanding right, they were carved in the familiar shape. From there they were transported over the island to their final resting places.
Each statue was carved to represent a specific deified ancestor - "moai" means “for the progeny” or “for the descendants” - that’s why there are no two statues alike. There are almost 900 "moai" recorded on Rapa Nui; almost 400 still in the quarry, between 164 and 288 on an "ahu" (a raised rectangular platform used as a place of worship) and 200 remain on the spot were they fell or were left during transport. The average "moai" weighs 12,5 tons and stands 4 metres high.
Ahu Vai Uri is part of the Tahai Ceremonial Complex.
The Ahu Vai Uri, whose name could be translated as “dark water” or “green water” is the platform with the largest number of erected statues. Its construction dates from 1200 AD. Its five restored moai are a sample of the different styles of how they were carved.

May it be that of ipernity...
I respect your efforts to find someone for the two vacant positions, but there will always be a solution. This message, that Ipernity will stop to exist otherwise with this exact date, is simply too dramatic and most members will feel nothing but naked fear (again). Anyway I wish us all a good solution of this issue and to calm down this panic, it would be very yery nice, laudable and honorable, if the current leader of the gang (Gary Glitter, 1972) would tell us, that he will hold his position(s), UNTIL new volunteers are found, and not only until an exact date. Unfortunately I'm not able to help here personally because of several exclusionary reasons.

If there aren't any candidates, this is by no means the immediate end of ipernity. In this respect, any panic is misplaced. It is just that the ima team cannot then make a proposal to the General Assembly on 27 March 2022. In this case, the General Assembly, as the highest authority of our association, must find a solution itself.
(The 'leader of the gang' (William Sutherland) will of course retain his mandate as President. But he cannot be treasurer at the same time. This is not permitted by law. Moreover, William can hardly be his own Vice-President.)
Ich kann leider selbst nicht helfen und würde mich freuen, wenn sich jemand findet.
Gewiß, Jaap, es sind viele Rufer - aber wenige Hörer. Solche Positionen lassen sich nun mal nur im Besitz der Gesundheit und mit einem nicht allzu hohen Lebensalter wahrnehmen. Vielleicht ist dies auch ein Zeichen des Alterns unserer Mitglieder.
