Creeping Thistle

When all the birds are too far away, I turn my camera lens to anything else of interest or beauty. On 30 September 2013, I was on a bird walk with friends in the Sikome and Lafarge Meadows areas of Fish Creek Park and happened to notice that this Creeping/Canada Thistle plant was still in bloom. All the others in the area had gone to seed. Such a shame that this is an invasive weed, as the flowers really are quite pretty (like so many other weeds).
