Back of the Ruler's Palace, Doha, 1967
Another photo that I need to add to my set of old photos taken in Doha, Qatar, 1966-67. This one shows the back of the Ruler's Palace. The old clock tower can be seen, too. I used to love being in that area - we used to do our food shopping at Qatar Cold Store that was near the clock tower.

I am so use to seeing places with "green" ... with rare visits to areas that are not ... I am not sure what I would think if I were living in a place void of much colour ... excellent archival shot Anne!!

Art, I LOVE the desert and desert colours, after living in desert regions for six and a half years! When we used to go back to England on leave (all those years ago), drivng along the country roads, where the trees formed a "tunnel" of green, gave me claustrophobia and even the green fields would make me feel a little nauseous. I'm fine with green now, which is a good thing, lol!

Yes, to each their own ... as I enjoyed the Prairies, it was not a place for me ... however I do enjoy the vastness and shapes of the landscape of Canada ... hmmm, where there mushrooms growing there?? LOL

Thanks, Art! I should have added, of course, that I do also love the mountains and the rolling Foothills! Calgary is in such a great location, within reach of prairie, foothills, mountains and Boreal forest. No wonder we have such a great, varied flora and fauna. Really wish I could get to the mountains a lot more often - though I am extremely grateful for each chance that does happen to come along. I'm not sure if mushrooms grow in Oman. Maybe I should Google it, ha.
