I came across this mushroom on 9th September, while on a bio-assessment of an acreage down near Millarville. I finally have to accept the fact that mushrooms are over for this year : (. I went for a short walk this afternoon, but found almost nothing, other than a few shelf fungi and one tiny white mushroom. Two huge Mule Deer frightened the life out of me in the forest, especially the second hidden one, which remained motionless until I almost reached it! Saw a group of nine Mule Deer doing a feeding frenzy as I was driving out of the parking lot.
