Found on top of a mountain

It was a bit of a surprise to come across several of these Puff Balls, most of them "deformed" in small clusters", on the top of Plateau Mountain, in the Plateau Mountain Ecological Reserve. I went with three friends who had special permission to drive the gravel road to the very top, on 7 August 2012. This Puff Ball was perhaps a couple of inches across.
