Mourning Cloak

This beautiful (macro) Mourning Cloak butterfly flew past me when I had just arrived at the Northern Hawk Owl location yesterday morning. It flew back and landed on the road, right at the entrance to the owl area. I was even more thankful for seeing this, as I was out of luck with a Great Gray Owl and only heard the Northern Hawk Owl calling, and no Spruce Grouse, ha. Shortly before I was going to give up looking, I heard what sounded like a single dog bark. There was no one else there, no other cars parked, so my mind then thought back to knowing that someone had heard Wolves calling. I need to check online to see if Wolves do give a similar bark, as well as their well-known calling. I decided that standing on my own in such a remote, deserted place was perhaps not the best idea, so walked back to my car : ) Now, though, I have to hurry and get myself ready for a morning's walk - to give my arms a rest from mouse-clicking and to help increase my bone density that needs to be increased, apparently. Enjoy your day.
