Forget-me-not

Posting my photos really late today (early evening). Had another busy, long day, with an amazing birding walk all morning and then I went just outside of the city, westwards on highway 22X. I was so glad I was driving, not walking this afternoon, as I got caught in torrential rain and hail. Nothing like sitting with the passenger window down so that I could capture a Snipe who seemed to be trying to shelter in a shrub from the rain. The small hailstones happily bounced their way into my car : ) When I turned round to head back towards home, the Snipe had flown across the road and was posing very nicely on the fence - as Snipe can do so well! On the way home, I called in at a small pond within the city and found a few Canada Goose goslings that were growing up so fast. They were all busy eating the grass at the edge of the road. Now I'm tired out, but need to finish downloading my photos from my camera, ready for the next trip. We get so few weeks in the year that we can do this, so I'm trying to make myself make the effort to get ready and go : )
Photographed this cluster of beautiful Forget-me-not flowers on a botanizing day trip to Plateau Mountain on 31st July 2010. In remembrance of Jim (Dubois, Garnite on Flickr) and to let his wife Linda know that I'm thinking of her and her family and close friends.
