When the weight of the world ...

This little, delicate mushroom and three or four others were growing amongst the woodchips where I found the thousands of Bird's-nest Fungi nine days ago. Thought I'd quickly take a photo of this one before it finally succumbed to the weight of it's ribbed cap. Seemed a waste not to capture its remaining beauty.
Posting late today, as I was out with two friends at Bow Valley Provincial Park and got home early evening. This amazing park is at the foot of the eastern edge of the mountains. Weather was perfect - sunshine, blue sky, and temperatures that were warm but not too hot. Now, if only our summer had been like this! The purpose of the day's outing was to look for Lichen species, but of course I always photograph everything else as well - insects, scenery, macros, etc.. Like it always does, the fresh air has completely knocked me out! No mushroom photos, today : ) Think that's it for newly taken fungi photos till next July/August : (
