Purple Spring Sand Dunes

On Saturday, a few of us went down to south eastern Alberta to visit the Purple Springs Sand Dunes area, near Taber. We recorded all plant, bird, animal, insect, fungi and any other kind of life. I have to say that the area really didn't live up to its wonderful name, LOL. This was about as close as we saw to "sand dunes" - the rest of the area looked like natural, flat prairie grassland. We did see a number of new plants there, which was great, plus a Plains Garter Snake ( a new one for me, as we only get Wandering and Red-sided Garter Snakes in Calgary), The various grasses in the area were so beautiful. Turned out to be an enjoyable, but very long and hot day.
