Motherly love

Or it could very well be Fatherly love, as both adults have similar plumage : ) The only Coot baby I saw yesterday, that was still young enough to have the bright orange feathers, was the far side of a wetland (within the city), so I ended up enjoying watching the somewhat older youngsters closer to where I was standing. Spent some time here on my way home from a botanizing day in the Benchland area, north west of the city and north west of Cochrane.
