Semipalmated Plover

A very heavily cropped image of a Semipalmated Plover, a first for me! We saw a group of six of these birds today, on drive south east of the city, to the Wyndham/Carseland, Langdon Reservoir and Weed Lake area. These birds are not often seen - they are migrating quickly through the area at the moment - so we were lucky to see them. They are similar to, but smaller than, the more common Killdeer. They were amazingly well camouflaged amongst the rocks.
