Bearded Barbet

I thought this was a very strange-looking tropical bird, found in the African building (where the Gorillas are) at the Calgary Zoo. I was lucky that it was perched on this branch close to the wooden walkway. Love the bright red, but not so sure about that eye or the beard, LOL! A bit creepy.
