This Great Horned Owl at the Calgary Zoo is a paler kind than the usual Great Horned Owls we see here. His mate is sitting on the nearby nest at the moment, which is exciting! The other Great Horned Owl that shared the enclosure with them died recently, at around the age of 20 years, if I remember correctly. It feels so great having nothing between the owls and oneself.
