Searching for owls

Spent the morning east of the city searching for Snowy Owls and Short-eared Owls. No luck at all with the Snowy but we saw three Short-eared Owls. They were very distant and either perched on low posts or else were flying low looking for food. This is the kind of countryside where both owls can be found.
