Adolphsdorfian Turf Boat Skipper. It was not only a great view from the boat - it was also an interesting trip. The skipper told us a lot about the Devil's Moor as well as the living conditions of the turf boat skippers who lived in the moor villages. It must have been such a hard life for people at that time! Therefore the saying: „Den Eersten sien Dood, den Tweeten sien Noot, den Drüdden sien Broot“. "The first one's death, the second one's plight, the third one's bread."

Turfboats in the Devil's Moor. (Osterholz-Scharmbeck near Worpswede) Eigentlich leitet sich der Name "Teufelsmoor" von "doofes Moor" (taubes Moor) ab, weil der Boden für landwirtschaftliche Zwecke nicht nutzbar war. Der plattdeutsche Begriff "düwels Moor" wurde dann offenbar bei der Übersetzung ins Hochdeutsche falsch verstanden und zu "Teufelsmoor". So schnell kommt ein schlechter Ruf zustande... ;-)

Je länger (ich in Dänemark bin) je lieber (mag ich es leiden). ;-) Könnte auch etwas anderes sein. Eine bunte Schreck-Schrecke z.B.... oder noch schlimmeres...
