It was still pretty warm...

We had to stop several times and take our bikes off the road as the farmers were very busy that day. You never know when the rain comes back ... but it doesn't look like it, yet. Fortunately! :))

But the town people aren't much better. Be aware: It's forbidden to wear weapons between 8 pm and 8 am! (The rest of the time we don't care).

Sorry, not a good photo - unfortunately this guy decided to circle up higher and higher... Still, I was surprised that the photo helped me identify this bird. (Typical the white spots under its wings). -- And I was also astonished to find that this was a red kite / Roter Milan). commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Milvus_milvus_R%28ThKraft%29.jpg Buzzards and kites I have seen often, yes, but no red kites. So this was a nice surprise!

No access to the right of the bridge. In the 1970s they straightened the River Wümme, but quickly came to know the negative effects. I don't know how old the sign is but I can't remember it. So it is probably here where the European otter lives... (I was astonished when I saw another sign some kilometres back where among the wildlife the European otter was listed. Would love to see one!!)

Our summerhouse was located behind the strip of woodland in the upper part of the picture. The path along the river is totally overgrown, now. Actually it would be nice to have a walk there again sometime. There is a beautiful footpath (noc cycles) between this area and Fischerhude.

Very nice for rubber-boat-paddling-tours. ;)

I asked for turning to the right at some stage - as this is a region where I spent many summer days of my childhood. I am not sure when I went there the last time but it must be several years if not a decade by now. Homely feeling... :)
