The Danish started early... ;) Looks very alchemistic, doesn't it.
Later I saw the place where it was found - in the tower of an old rampart in the middle of the woods...

I think it's as pretty as this one (see lower picture):

I was told that this pot was whole when it was found, i.e. no missing sherds had to be restored. I think people had a good aesthetic sense at that time (4300-c. 2800 BC).

The Summerhouse...
... near the beach.
The second day (when I took this photo) was a bit cloudy but very comfortable temperatures particularly as the day of arrival had been v e r y warm. It was a bit coolish for a swim but we tried nevertheless. :)

... in Denmark :))
It was a gorgeous holiday - pure summer in Denmark, a lovely summerhouse, 3 min to the beach on foot, cycling, mini-golfing, terrific food, reading, meeting friends etc. etc. etc. :)))
