The Good Old Days...


The conductor was a very friendly guy who emanated respectability the moment he put on his uniform. He beamed with pride when I told him so. ;)
It's amazing how much work these people put into the preservation of these old trains and into all the details - such as selling tickets and the tickets themselves. The engine driver learned his job from scratch - starting as a fireman (no, not of the fire brigade).
