Charred Bark from a Controlled Burn

Did you know that forest services conduct monitored burn piles most years all over the world? This is done to reduce the fire fuel if a fire were to start from a lightning strike or another reason. Clearing out dead branches and trees, removing brush and trees growing too closely together also helps our forest's health and vigor.
