73/365: "Delight in the beauty that surrounds you." ~ Anonymous

Ever since last Sunday, when Daylight Savings pushed the clocks back an hour, I've been getting up earlier than usual and it's been so fantastic to be up with the birds!! I've also needed to get up early because I'm currently working on a project that keeps me busy all day and I must take my pictures early for my 365 Project or I might not have time! All part of the plan, I spent a lot of time thinking about how to deal with having only a bit of time each day to work on my 365 project, and so far, so good! (By the way, I'm so sorry I haven't been around to see your pictures as much as I'd like, I am just too busy, but I'm looking forward to catching up as soon as I have some free time!!)
I popped out the door today and yes, I took a peek at Roscoe and said good morning before going over to see how the daffodils were coming along. I could see they were starting to open, but what caught my eye was the leaf above, lodged between some daffodil stalks. Big deal, a leaf, so what? But something got my attention, and I am very sensitive to this sense, so I looked again with focused attention. My eyes grew wide and I exclaimed outloud, "WOW!!!" when I understood why my "macro sense" was tingling...carefully removing it and holding it up, I stared in awe at a beautifully preserved leaf skeleton!! These are favorites of mine to find and I'd never seen one from this kind of leaf before. I wondered how I could get a nice image until it dawned on me: why don't I just hold it up and take a picture?! I wasn't sure I'd be able to hold still enough, and I also wasn't sure I'd get the aperture right. In fact, I was fairly positive I wouldn't get anything from my attempts so I only took about 5 pictures. This was the first one, and it was also the very first picture I took today! WOW, right?!! Hooray for getting my 365 picture on the very first try!
