A Hug & Dedication to my Wonderful, Dear Friend in Athens, Desi!

I used to be addicted to an online video game called World of Warcraft. When Steve and I finally decided to stop, I began a blog about my experience. One day I began to get comments from a very nice woman, who I soon learned was an ex-"WOW" junkie like me, and she was from Athens, Greece! Desi and I became good friends over the next year and it was because of her that I got an account on Flickr! Once I stopped spending all my time playing WoW, I took an interest in photography, and my blog was filled with my pictures! Desi told me that I really need to get an account, and once I discovered Flickr, the rest was history! In fact, Flickr killed my blog because I am so interested in photography that I don't make time for blogging! :D
Desi and I share a special bond because of our ex-gamers connection. It's difficult to understand what it's like to be consumed by a game like this, and stopping can be very difficult. These games can destroy people's lives, and coming through the other side after playing for so many years is a triumph.
Today I got a letter from Desi, and it contained three wonderful videos that she took at the amazing ruins of Delphi, Greece. She says in one video that they are dedicated to me, and I was so touched! In fact, where she stood, I once stood when I was 21 years old, and I remember exactly what it was like to be there. It made me cry that she would send me these videos, and to be so thoughtful and dear.
I am so lucky to have Desi for my friend. I love her dearly and I look forward to the day that I will be able to go to Greece and visit her! She's AMAZING!!! *BIG BIG HUGS*!!!!
