Emerald Bay

On Lake Tahoe, on the California side. Emerald Bay is a glacial basin with a sill just lower than the lake level. Looking northeast; the distant mountains are in Nevada. The island is Fannette Island, the only island (aside from shoreline rocks) in Lake Tahoe. The prominent highway at the left is California State Route 89. View from the Granite Lake trail.
