Flag tree

Guess the direction of the prevailing wind-- ;) When the asymmetry due to the wind is this pronounced, the tree is often called a "flag tree" because the limbs all on one side look like banners streaming down the wind. On the Pacific Crest Trail in California, near Webber Peak north of Donner Pass. The prominent trail on the right is in fact the PCT. One of the dogs in poking into the pic at lower right. Map location is approximate.
