Well, yes. It should be Reese "Creek", at most! Apparently the name is the result of a 19th century scam suggesting the "river" was big enough to be navigable. Central Nevada, USA.

Yes, I would believe it might not be navigable but much larger vessels than a canoe.

A very pleasant landscape. Plenty of rivers here have less water (most of the time), I suspect it may also be a matter of the size of the catchment.

Thanks, everyone! Of course, in an area this dry any surface water is welcome, but "river" still seems a bit of a stretch.

Yeah, any water is better than no water-- A lot of the settlement upstream is Indian reservation, one of the Paiute groups IIRC.
