High-Jinks at the Park

My interpretation: The seated, apparently one-legged woman has begun to levitate. Her astonished, oddly masked friend follows her progress.

On a fashion note - love the patterned socks and (early?) saddle shoes.

Interesting photo. It looks to me that the woman on the left is awkwardly perched on a box or basket with her left knee supporting most of her weight. Or, she's practicing a curtsy in expectation of meeting the Queen. I think this is the earliest example of saddle oxfords I've seen. Very quirky!
