Posed Misery #1

Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of "camping/tents."
This is me deliberately posing as miserable, but in reality just hamming it up - and showing the first night (of 4 months) that my friend Joanne and I camped in Europe, 1974.
(Joanne is in the next photo.)
Being urban girls, we had literally never set up a tent before in our lives - so when it started raining heavily in the night we cleverly threw our plastic raincoats on the canvas so that the tent would stay dry. Instead, of course, the rain immediately started to leach in.
i think someone explained to us why we might not want to do that - the next morning.
This campsite was in Yorkshire. We packed up right after this photo was taken.

But the thought of camping now is completely unattractive. Comfort is a lot more important these days. : )
