King/ Illingworth Wedding #1

Uploaded for Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of "Weddings."
My in-laws, Ronnie King and Joanne Illingworth cut the cake on April 27, 1944, in Springfield, Vt.
Agnes King (Ron's mother) behind them, Ada (Grimshaw) Illingworth (Joanne's mother) to Joanne's side and bridesmaid friends and a cousin, Ann Greenwood Illingworth from Bellows Falls. Hazel (Whitney) Plimpton, her maid of honor, on the far right.
Tragically, the best man (Ronnie's best friend) (P.F.C. Frank Plimpton?) died either the next day, or a few days later, in a car accident in NYC.
Note: I can't find any evidence of this!
I think he's the man who is looking distraught, as he appears to be the one next to him in the photo of the receiving line. (#3)
I hope they were able to enjoy their honeymoon before hearing the news - but I'm not sure of that story.
