I received this sweet daguerreotype today as a gift. I know there are ways to scan dags to do them justice, but I've never done it before, and I know this is a little rough.
As you can see, there is damage around the edges, but fortunately the little face stayed clear.

Angelica - Maybe I'm just paranoid. : ) I remember a conversation on Flckr where big time dag collectors were talking about how to scan for the greatest depth, lack of reflection, etc. but I'm not going back to check it out. lol
