Hotel Ceresio au Lac Lugano, Switzerland

This is the hotel where my mother stayed, on a "working girls holiday" in 1951. She went with her friend, Molly, who worked with her in Highgate, London.
She was 26, and had not been out of England before.
Loaded for the Vintage Photo Theme Park theme of "Hotels, or Motels."

Looking at this in the largest (original) size - there are some odd things in this photo. First, the closest chair has been enhanced - maybe it was out of focus, but there's also something strange about the column in the center. It almost looks like it has glass in it - or has it also been altered? (The other columns look normal.)
Lastly, this might be my imagination, but the man who is at the furthest table - it looks like someone drew a blonde woman in front of him, wearing a gauze stole and a low cut black dress.
Or am I insane? : )
