My Mother's Knitting Book

So glamorous in her woolen underwear. : )
Since I'm allergic to wool, a garment like this is my idea of hell.
This was my mother's knitting book - I used to love looking at all the photos of people modeling the clothes. I actually made a few things from here a few years ago when I was feeling unusually craft-y.
This is from the 1940s. It has some really cool clothes and some ridiculously silly things, too. (Knitted hanger covers, woolen swimsuits, knitted toaster cover.)
