Rijksmuseum 2013 – The Dutch Ambassador on his Way to Isfahan


In 1651–1652 the Dutch ambassador Joan Cunæus and his secretary Cornelis Speelman travelled to Isfahan to stimulate trade in horses and silk. The man on the left is probably the Sultan of Bandar Abbas.
