Saturday Self-Challenge: Minimalism using one item for your subject.

A sea shell that I found while on vacation at Sanibel Island, Florida 15 years ago. Sanibel Island is considered the "seashell capital of the world". A strong reason for this is where it is located along the gulf coast of the US. The best time to collect the shells is after a hurricane's winds have driven them to the coastline.

Thank you so much, Gudrun! Sanibel Island is the only shoreline I visited where I could find so many undamaged shells. I think it is somehow related to location and shallowness of the waters.

Thanks so much, Ron! I think I enjoyed Sanibel Island even more than Disney World because of the beauty of the calm gulf waters and mangroves (only one of two places in the western world that has them. Texas is the other place). I saw my first wild bobcat while walking to the beach at sunset one day. Thankfully it was far more afraid of me than I was of it. And then there were the seashells...
