Round in Square

Saturday Self-Challenge: Compose your image in a square format. You can use any subject and any processing technique as long as your image has been cropped square.
The challenge for me this week was figuring out what to use as a subject for my photo that would work in square format. It was also a challenge just to take a picture this week due to foul weather and spotty lighting. I decided to use a round shape as a subject because I thought it would work well within a square frame. After a fruitless search, I finally chose a picture of a peacock feather from a set I took 3 days ago. I rotated it straight, cropped it square, and then played around with mirroring to accentuate the interesting patterns of color and texture.
