Saturday Self-Challenge: Animal Portrait

This week's topic proved a bit more challenging than I thought it would. First of all, the weather was not so good this week, so I couldn't get a good outdoor image. Then I took several indoor shots of both my cats, but the lighting was rather poor, and they wouldn't coorperate on cue, so I decided to "take a lemon and make lemonade" with the situation. I took the best image of the lot and processed it to look high key in B&W. I was so relieved that it turned out halfway decent! :-)

Deine Katze hat nun den Blick eines alten, weisen Philosophen, Pam !
Volle Konzentration auf die Augen.
Viel besser als das PiP (der bunte Hintergrund lenkt ab, es fehlen die Kontraste).

Loving them both Val ... you sure do make good lemonade - lol! ;)

I'd also have been tempted to try combining the two shots to create some selective colour. Maybe by putting the high key shot over the other one and then deleting the eyes from the top layer to let the colour come through ... just an idea! :)

I like your idea for selective color on just the eyes, but I'm not as process savvy as you; PicMonkey is about all I use these days, unless I wish to do SC, then I use a free program called Photoscape. It would be a great project to go back and figure out how to do though, so thanks for the suggestion! :-))

Oh I love this photo - it's likef he's looking at you as if you're invading his privacy!!! LOL I do love the colour - what a gorgeous looking cat, but in monochrome it's a completely different atmosphere.
