Beautiful Old Books

Photo taken in one of the quaint shops at Peddler's Village, Lahaska, PA.

About twice a year I meet with my New Jersey relatives to chat and shop at this beautiful "tourist trap" in the middle of rural Pennsylvania just west of Philadelphia. Peddler's Village is well known for its beautiful boutiques featuring art of all mediums, unique clothing and jewlery. This particular shop sells both antiques and new items. Their old books in particular are beautifully displayed throughout the store and are a treat to look at. See note for the other picture I took of their books. I wish I had taken more photos.

This trip I decided to forego the DSLR and try my new iphone camera. I must say that I was quite impressed with the results. Point-and-shoots will go the way of the dinosaur if camera phones continue to improve like this.

Warm and welcoming, lovely set of old books. My last camera phone, an earlier Samsung took much better photos than my current Samsung S3. The iPhones are doing very well now.

Thank you so much, Esther! I was especially impressed with the accurate color of the items in the photo. The biggest complaint I have with my point-and-shoots is the inability to get an accurate color range in anything other than bright sunlight.

What an atmospheric place that is! I'm not so sure of your assessment of what brought about the extinction of the dinosaur. I'm certain the meteor that crashed took pretty much almost all life along with the dinosaurs. Plus, it seems to me that all these people using telephone cameras weren't really into taking pictures in the first place or they would have had a camera. All that snapping done with cellphones must just be a fad and when it dies down, the people that were serious about photography and cameras will continue to exist. Either that or I'll wait until cellphones can make toast, along with taking pictures, video, be an alarm, make calls, etc. When they can do that, then maybe I'll buy in. Well.... maybe not. My toaster still works fine and does what it was created to do perfectly well, so why should I get rid of it?

Thanks so much, Kenny! Lol, I understand how you feel. My first impression of phones with cameras was "why a camera in a phone, doesn't make sense!" Unfortunately it seems technology wants to meld all the gadgets together! At this point, I have decided to make friends with the camera phone, especially this improved version. The point-and-shoot cameras are going to have a run for their money if these phone cameras continue to improve like this.
