Replica War Trumpet

The reconstruction of the original form of this carnyx is based on evidence from across Europe.
The carnyx was a trumpet used in battle to inspire warriors to greater deeds of valour and to terrify their enemies. The Romans, who faced the carnyx in battle, found it so distinctive and strange that they made it an emblem of their opponents.
