Looks like it's had the dingy treatment. Is that the effect you call 'painterly'?

No. It might look as though it has, but it hasn't had any "treatment" at all. The sky was grey but at that moment there was low sun shining on the building. Like it or not, that is almost exactly how it looked in reality.

It does look like it has, but I'll take your word for it.

Sorry, I don't understand. "It has" has no physical existence so nothing can look like it.

It does where I come from.

Then send me a photograph of "it has", please, so I can judge for myself if it looks like mine.

How can I take a photo of an idiom?

If it has a physical existence where you come from, then point the camera at it and take it.

Why keep arguing it looks fine to me, leans a little but if that is "as is" it is fine any spelling errors are due to the fact I lost the sight in 1 eye this week!

Howard and I always argue, as he's an incorrigible pedant, especially for grammar.
I'm sorry you've lost your sight. Is that permanent?
