English Electric Lightning XS936 (9M) - 2 February 2018

The English Electric Lightning was a magnificent aircraft. XS936 is preserved at Castle Motors/Castle Air, Trebown (nr Liskeard).

I first photographed it on 15 April 2014. In early 2018 it could be seen in red oxide primer which suggests a forthcoming repaint and more glorious years of preservation. My pictures are not the first on Flickr but, in keeping with my reputation for story telling through my photostream, they can be viewed as a second chapter in this particular story.
