Unaccompanied Minør (2) - 17 June 2017

There are no public railways in the Iceland of today but two early 20th century locomotives can still be found. The 900mm Reykjavik Harbour Railway which operated from 1913-1928 in connection with the construction of the harbour breakwaters. (A placard at the site refers to 1913-1917). 'Pioner', the longer lived of its two locomotives can be found at the Icelandic Folk Museum at Arbær whilst 'Minør' sits on a short section of track alongside the roadway at Reykjavik Harbour.
