West Elm (3) - 17 October 2016

The much publicised regeneration of downtown Palm Springs on a site formerly occupied by the Desert Fashion Plaza has also been much delayed. Three of my albums, 'Out of Fashion (Colour Version)', 'Out of Fashion (Mono Version)' and 'A Follower of Fashion' have recorded the slow progress of first demolition then construction.

On my latest visit to Palm Springs, I was taken aback to see how little has happened since last year. Today, construction continued of the Kimpton hotel which is still a long way from opening. However, the nearby mixed-use Block A has opened with West Elm the first occupant. The view across Andreas Road of the West Elm building at 201 N Palm Canyon Drive can be compared with a similar view from 10 November 2015.
