Kimpton Construction (7) - 17 October 2016

The much publicised regeneration of downtown Palm Springs on a site formerly occupied by the Desert Fashion Plaza has also been much delayed. Three of my albums, 'Out of Fashion (Colour Version)', 'Out of Fashion (Mono Version)' and 'A Follower of Fashion' have recorded the slow progress of first demolition then construction.

On my latest visit to Palm Springs, I was taken aback to see how little has happened since last year. Today, construction was proceeding steadily but the planned Kimpton hotel is still a long way from opening with no sign of other development on the adjacent parts of the site although the nearby mixed-use Block A has opened with West Elm the first occupant.
