Cymmer Afan Viaduct (1) - 27 June 2015

On the day I first saw the Cymmer Afan Viaduct I described it in a FB post as 'shockingly beautiful'. Perhaps helped by a bright day and beautiful scenery, I was moved. The quality of construction and engineering spoke loudly across the ages since this Victorian enterprise for the Swansea Mineral Railway. Trains would emerge from a tunnel to the south for the magnificent crossing of the gorge. This was a highlight of my explorations of disused railways.
