Flinders Street Station - 4 March 2015

Flinders Street Station in Melbourne was completed in 1909 and would certainly feature on any list of the world's most striking railway architecture. It was the first railway station in an Australian city and the world's busiest passenger station in the late 1920s. Today's infrastructure, serving Metro trains, is rather more prosaic below street level than the spectacular building but there are charming features such as the clocks just visible here and featured in the next picture.
