A Beetle at the British Museum (10M) - 10 October 2014
An absolutely beautiful Volkswagen Beetle KRY724, on loan from the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, featured in the British Museum's exhibition 'Germany - memories of a nation' from 16 October 2014. The vehicle was already on display on 10 October and carried a 1956 tax disc. Note the price of £3 8s 9d. This feature of motoring life for so many of us had become extinct only ten days earlier as an all electronic system was introduced and drivers were no longer required to display a disc.
