25-27 Highcross Street, Leicester - 13 July 2014

The centre of Leicester houses a mixture of architectural styles, not always comfortably. As with so many cities, there are some real gems to be found especially if one looks beyond the present day facades and signage. In this view in Highcross Street, 25-27 is now an apartment block but also has the entrance to Terra Cotta Chinese Restaurant. The building to the tight has the intriguing inset '1712' suggesting some considerable history and, glimpsed to the far left, the Old Grammar School is now the location of the 1573 Grill Restaurant. The clue, I presume, is in the date.
