If you have not been on a submarine, it is worth a visit to appreciate just how cramped the conditions are or, at least, were on older vessels such as HMS Alliance.

Alliance reopened today after a substantial refurbishment which included the dressing of the interior to represent operational conditions. This is one of a short series of shots from inside. I can not vouch for the authenticity of the practice suggested here.
