HMS Alliance Mess (2) - 3 April 2014

If you have not been on a submarine, it is worth a visit to appreciate just how cramped the conditions are or, at least, were on older vessels such as HMS Alliance. I expect the sailors were experienced enough to avoid finishing an out-of-the-tin meal with a sharp blow to the head.

Alliance reopened today after a substantial refurbishment which included the dressing of the interior to represent operational conditions. This is one of a short series of shots from inside.
