Bike v Beetle - 27 November 2013

Here is a picture with a short but complicated history. I think we have established that I photograph Beetles. Even the oldest thrive in the desert and I keep a look out for them. This one, seen first from a distance, required a drive round a city block to catch and, by the time we completed the circuit, it was leaving its parking spot. Next, I found I had my camera on the wrong setting (yesterday's film simulation) and then the cyclist came into shot. Normally, that would be complete anathema to me but, you know what, I think it works in this case. I got my partner to do a tiny bit of PS (to remove a hazy lump of dashboard) which is also normally anathema to me and, a couple of compromises later, I have a picture I like and another of a Beetle.
