Now.. here ... over Christmas 14 dead in Tornado's in Mississippi and Tornado's in Arizona (!) and California(!).

We were surrounded by Tornado Warnings this afternoon. Temps fell from a very unseasonal high of 70F (!!!) to 48F in an hour.. and dropping..... Severe Thunderstorms and rain and high winds.... freezing rain and snow/ice forecast.

Mother Nature is not a happy Lady.

Wish I could hold onto it all winter! I heard about the tornadoes. Especially sad for them to happen around the holiday season and put families into mourning. Hope by now things have calmed down.

Today 27th Dec it is 33F(1C) we have Thunderstorms (power on and off) high winds and sleet and ice and a blizzard coming maybe !

I am however VERY grateful the tornados have gone. Its heartbreaking for folk

Note: Despite the sudden cold that resulted in temperatures plunging to 7°F (and many of the 36 hours in the teens F) with a –12°F wind chill because of the 20+ MPH sustained winds that created a frigid blast furnace effect desiccating and/or destroying every flower (I haven't checked the NYBG though), this pansy miraculously survived unscathed. In doing so it provided a powerful, inspirational example of hope – every obstacle no matter how insurmountable in appearance or seemingly hopeless situation can be overcome with perseverance and determination.
